Viewpoint 1: War is inevitable.
Main Point 1: Issues from the past always come back. Countries are meant to hate each other sometimes. Concrete Example: Iran and Iraq have been at war for years. They have fought over everything, from religion to politics. The Iranians have been trying to dominate Iraq, but Iraq is just too powerful. Main Point 2: Political leaders disagree all the time. Each government is ran a different way; no two countries have the exact same rules and standards. Concrete Example: The US Military is getting ready to pull their troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan, but, it looks like there still can be no peace between the countries. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/01/27/state-of-the-union-military-under-the-budget-gun/?iref=allsearch Main Point 3: There are people in the world that want to hurt others, and that want power. Everyone has their own opinions on what is right and what is wrong. Concrete Example: During World War II, Hitler killed people who didn't believe what he did, people who had different backgrounds, or even people who had problem such as down syndrome, etc. He systematically killed millions of innocent people, causing other countries to step in and create a war. Main Point 4: Money is a huge fuel for war. For many people or countries, that's all they want; power and money. Viewpoint 2: War can be avoided.
Main Point 1: If people just take a minute and try to defuse a deadly situation, wars could be avoided d lives could be saved. A common agreement should be found. Concrete Example: Cuban missile crisis. Main Point 2: In 1949, a peace treaty entitled the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was put into play. 28 countries signed the peace treaty and still uphold to it today. Concrete Example: http://www.nato.int/nato-welcome/ Main Point 3: European Union is a political and economic union. There is 28 member states. The EU came about after the second world war, in 1958. Concrete Example: http://europa.eu/about-eu/index_en.htm Main Point 4: People should make more efforts to try and keep the peace; not just instantly fight. In Israel, the Prime Minister is pushing for peace with the Palestine's. Concrete Example: http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/03/politics/kerry-mideast-peace-plan/index.html?iref=allsearch |
